Case Study — Fabrication & Product Design
CAD Products
A running collection of objects designed in Fusion 360 and 3D printed, and the parts behind most of my other work.
The Practice
A running collection of objects designed in Autodesk Fusion 360 and 3D printed on Ultimaker and Bambu Lab printers. It is less a single project than the infrastructure behind all my other work: every enclosure, mount, and mechanism in SquishyMusic, Date Clock, and the rest of my prototypes started here.
The Approach
Each object goes through fast, disposable print cycles before anything is finalized. Tolerances, ergonomics, and part fit are much easier to evaluate by holding a rough print than by looking at a CAD viewport. That habit of testing physically and early, rather than trusting the model, carries over into how I approach interface prototyping. I build the roughest version that answers the real question, then iterate from what I learn holding it.
Why It's Here
I think design skill shows up in the unglamorous, repeated work as much as in any single flagship project. This collection is the clearest evidence of the iteration habits and the tolerance for failure behind everything else in this portfolio.
